Updates and news

All NC LIVE usage statistics are now updated through December 2016, with the exception of data from Oxford University Press and Morningstar. We expect this data will be updated within a week.

As a reminder, many vendors have administrative modules available. You can use these modules to get your library's usage data directly from the vendor. Contact the NC LIVE Help Desk if you would like access to these modules.

If you have any questions regarding data definitions, please see our data definitions page.

RALEIGH, NC—Season 18 of UNC-TV’s North Carolina Bookwatch is now available for free as part of the NC LIVE online collection at nclive.org. The 30-episode season features authors such as Scott Ellsworth, Bridgette Lacy, Lee Smith, Kathy Reichs, Pam Saulsby and more.

Organizations that overemphasize consensus drive out talent, underperform, and lose money, all the while maintaining a harmonious facade.

Author’s Note:  Last week Serials Review published an article I wrote this spring about library consumer expectations, popular services in other industries, and the art of trendspotting.  The final version of that article can be found here: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/00987913.2016.1214521  If your library doesn’t subscribe to Serials Review, below is an earlier, draft version that I’m allowed to share.
