Biography

As Associate Director of NC LIVE, Claire is responsible for managing the internal operations of NC LIVE, such NC LIVE's Hosted Proxy program, technical infrastructure, website, usage and collections data, and NC LIVE's e-resource management. She also works with NC LIVE's Instruction Librarian on the Training and Professional Development program, and the Resource Advisory Committee on resource selection. Prior to coming to NC LIVE in 2016, Claire worked as Acquisitions Librarian at Tulane University Law Library, where she purchased new materials, managed subscriptions for print and electronic resources and oversaw the library’s budget. Before Tulane Law Library, Claire was the Reference and Instruction Librarian at Mary Baldwin College. In this position she provided research assistance and taught course-integrated instruction sessions to a wide variety of students including undergraduates, graduate students, adult degree and distance students.  Claire also served for a semester as Assistant Librarian on Semester at Sea, traveling around the world while providing library services to students and faculty aboard the MV Explorer ship. While earning a Master of Science in Library Science from UNC Chapel Hill, Claire worked for the Special Collections Research Center at NC State University Libraries and for the Undergraduate Library at UNC Chapel Hill. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Music from State University of New York at Geneseo.
