We want to express our concern and support for our member libraries who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene. We are keeping our colleagues, as well as their families and communities, in our thoughts as we seek opportunities to help them recover. Here are some of the resources shared by the State Library, NCLA, and other state organizations:
FEMA: Updates on response efforts and resources for disaster relief aid. The FEMA hotline can also be reached at 1-800-621-3362.
DisasterAssistance.gov: Find nearby shelters, help applying for disaster relief and other local resources.
ReadyNC.gov: Emergency information, such as traffic, power outages and shelter information.
North Carolina Department of Public Safety: Information about shelters, clean-up, and news about the state and federal responses.
DriveNC: Check road closures and traffic information.
American Red Cross: Recovery resources and help locating loved ones.
North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund: Donate to support disaster relief.
We will continue to look for ways to help our community members in the Western part of the state. If there is any way we can support your library during this difficult time, we encourage you to reach out to our Help Desk at help [at] nclive.org (help[at]nclive[dot]org) or (919) 513-0451.
